UKRC social gathering

Yesterday, I attended the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei)'s UKRC social gathering at The Adlon by Carnegie’s.

I had the privilege to chat with Willis (pictured) who is helping Swire Renewable Energy establish a new branch here in Taiwan, and with Valerie, whom I briefly met at Energy Taiwan where she spoke for a subscription-based wind magazine called WindTAIWAN on behalf of Venterra Group.

I also had the privilege to chat with Michael from Walsin Energy who is sourcing local suppliers to produce cable systems locally; Gaspar & Carrey from GQS who do quality assurance and control services for wind developers here in Taiwan; HsingWei from Mitsui & Co., Ltd. Green Energy Ltd. who's looking for new opportunities.

I also learned that there is an active forum on the Line app that connects industry people. If you're interested in the group, feel free to DM to get the details.

You can't see (pictured) , but yesterday was warmer than usual, and I was wearing a stripy white long-sleeve top, which was not very conducive to social meetings as such as I had to walk a little to get to the event, and I was starting to sweat like no tomorrow. hahah

Overall, I had a fruitful evening, meeting great people within the Renewable sector.
